October 23rd, 2008- RMS Ecology Club Meeting READ THIS!!

During our meeting today, we are discussing different ways we can make our middle school more eco-friendly. Two of our ideas have become a definte yes, we are going to participate in these two projects. Our first project is that we are collecting juice pouches for an organization that creates purses out of them so they don't waste space in landfills. The three brands of juice pouches are: Capri Sun, Honest Kids, and Kool-Aid. For every juice pouch we get, 2 cents is donated to a classroom that we adopted. This is going to take up the entire year. We are also trying to get LED lights for our entire school so don't waste so much energy. In order to get these lights, we have entered into a project where we have to get together all of the things we have done that have made us an AMAZING Ecology Club and an eco-friendly school. If we come up with a thorough and well-researched project that gets good scores from a group of judges after we send it in, they will give us the grant for the LED lights and will send all of the members of our Ecology Club to Busch Gardens! We are very excited about this and are working very hard for this grant.
