Recycling doesn’t just help out one thing. It helps out everyone and everything and all different ways. The environment can only take so much pollution. We are running out of time to help the world. Although there are so many different ways to recycle, whether it is cans, aluminum, glass, paper, water, plastics and so on, somebody can at least help in one way. Do you really want to go swimming at the beach with water filled with cans, bottles, plastics and more? Honestly, is that what you want for your future, or your kids’ future?
My family recycles. We may not do much but we try. We recycle paper, plastics, and glass. Every weekend we take our recyclables to the Brush Collection and Recycling center. When weighed, per week, we save 36lbs of glass, 4lbs of plastic, and 5lbs of paper. We also recycle aluminum and take that to the Brush Collection and Recycling center also, once a month. So in a month we save about 144lbs of glass, 16lbs of plastic, 20lbs of paper, and 3 lbs of aluminum. The more you save, the higher the numbers get and the more you save the earth! In a year, we would be saving about 7488lbs of glass, 832lbs of plastic, 1040lbs of paper, and 156lbs of cans. In all we would be saving 9516 lbs.
Weekly when you recycle, it may not seem like much, but adding up the numbers makes you realize what a difference you, yourself are making. Even the little things can make a difference. We did are part, now it’s time for you to do yours!
